No, there are several guides available for creating boot ubuntu usb. It’s quite easy actually, and far simpler than Windows.
@eminemstreets if you want to install ubuntu to a flash just use Grub4Dos and it will install a grub loader with gldr and a menu.lst and all you have to do is put the iso in your root

so you need the disc to do it without it you cant do it right

If you only have the ISO then you can install DAEMON Tools Lite, and then attach the ISO. It acts as a virtual DVD drive. There are others available that do the same, but DAEMON works fine for me.
