Nothing. Younger people often call them notebooks because it sounds cooler plus in college people use to use a notebook of paper. Now we use laptops instead….so we now call them notebooks…

      just different terms.
I think since laptops became more thiner and light weight they call them notebooks now (more catchy)

    8. Scotty says:

A notebook is generally thinner than a laptop. Besides that, they’re both the same thing.

    9. Jonathan Raj says:

There’s no difference. People call it a notebook just because it is shaped like one and portable like one. They call it a laptop because usually people put their laptop on their lap and they look at it at the top. So there is quite a difference.

No difference at all, as matter of fact when you go on line to any computer store you’ll See the list that says desktop, computers and notebook computer, but when you look at any notebook specifications you’ll see they use the term laptop.

I think they should use the appropriate name only.
      PORTABLE COMP

    11. John says:

Originally notebook and laptops were different because of size. Notebooks were lighter. The thing is now, all of the laptops being produced are light enough to be considered notebooks so they both, basically mean the exact same thing.
